SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton and Northwestern combined for 18 shots on Sunday afternoon, but neither team could find the back of the net in a 0-0 double overtime neutral-site affair at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Jeff Salt was forced to make six saves for the Titans (0-2-2) as the Wildcats (2-0-2) had several one-one attempts in the match, but the native of Fontana, Calif., was able to come off his line and squelch the Wildcats' opportunities.
Julian Okai and Dyllan Stevens led Fullerton with two shots apiece, as Wildcat goalkeeper Tyler Miller made four saves during the match.
Fullerton held a slight 10-8 edge in shots, but the Wildcats held a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The Wildcats also committed 15 fouls compared to Fullerton's six.
The Titans return to action on Friday, traveling to UNLV for the Nike UNLV Invitational playing Detroit on Friday and UMBC on Sunday.
