FORT COLLINS, COLO. – Cal State Fullerton men's golf opened their 2019-20 season with a strong third place finish out of a 17 team field in the Ram Masters Invitational.  The Titans climbed from seventh to third place after three rounds, shooting a combined 6-over par 846.

The 54-hole tournament, hosted by eventual champion Colorado State, took place at the Par 70, 7,218-yard Fort Collins Country Club.

Senior Derek Castillo led the Titans and tied for fifth overall with a 2-under par 208, which featured two 68's.  Teammate Garrett Boe finished one shot behind Castillo with a 1-under par 209, to finish in a tie for eighth place.

Jack Dyer improved with each round, shooting 74-71-68, to help the Titan team by finishing tied for 20th with a 3-over par 213.

Dalton Daniel and Michael Sharkey rounded out the Fullerton squad with scores of 217 and 225 to leave them tied for 42nd and 71st respectively.

The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team next takes to the links on October 7-8 when they return to the Centennial State to participate in the Colorado University Mark Simpson Invitational at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colorado.
