FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team returns to Wood Ranch Golf Course in Simi Valley, Calif., for the seventh consecutive year to play in the 20th-annual Bill Cullum Invitational hosted by CSUN on Monday and Tuesday.
THE COURSE: This year's field features 16 teams that will battle the Wood Ranch course which is par 72 and 6,819 yards. The tournament kicks off with a College-Am (practice round) on Sunday and will be followed by 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. USC is the defending team champion while Arizona State's Jon Rahm won the 2014 Individual title with a record 203. Cal State Fullerton won its only team championship at the 20-year-old tournament in 2013. The Titans have never had an individual champion at this event. The Titans have competed at the Bill Cullum Invitational for seven consecutive years after the men's golf program was reinstated for the 2009-10 season. Wood Ranch Golf Course will also be home to the 2016 Big West Championship from May 2-4.
THE FIELD: Competing along the Titans will be host CSUN, Boise State, Cal Poly, Hawai'i, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Northern Colorado, Pepperdine, Santa Clara, Seattle, Southern Utah, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and Utah State. Each school will field a team of five players with LMU, Pepperdine, Santa Clara and Southern Utah also fielding individuals whose score will not count towards team scoring.

LAST TIME AT BILL CULLUM INVITATIONAL: The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team completed play at the Bill Cullum Invitational in 19th place at the Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley, Calif., on Oct. 21, 2014. The Titans tallied a final score of 898 (+34), and with a total score of 222 (+6), Cal State Fullerton's Ryan Tetrault paced the Titans for a tie in 54th place. The senior carded identical second and third rounds at 74 (+2). Tetrault sunk seven birdies over the 36-holes.
LAST TIME OUT ON THE LINKS: In its second competition of the fall, the Cal State Fullerton men's golf team finished sixth at the Southern Dunes Collegiate Invitational after the third and final round of play on Oct. 4.The Titans shot a third round score 306 to finish the tournament with a total score of 890. Fullerton's top finisher was Jack Ireland as the rookie's three-round score of 3-over-par 219 tied for 15th. He shot a 78 (+6), in the third round on Sunday, dropping down seven spots in the standings from eighth.

2015-16 TAP-INS:
• Fullerton's final score of 843 from the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate on Tuesday ranks third all-time at Cal State Fullerton for the program's 54-hole team score.
• Fullerton's third-place finish at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate in Pullman, Wash., was the best for the program since winning the Big West Championship on April 29, 2014.
• Redshirt senior Mark Jensma was the top Titan finisher, as his total score of 209 (-4) tied for ninth at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate. For Jensma, the ninth place finish was the best in his Titan career and the second time he has finished in the top-10. In addition, his second round score of 68 and his total score 209 set career bests.
• Freshman Jack Ireland led the Titans with a 15th place finish at the Southern Dunes Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 4. He was the first freshman to lead Cal State Fullerton since Mark Cobey finished as the top Titan – in 41st place overall – at the Sacramento State Intercollegiate on Mar. 10, 2015.

SEASON SCHEDULE
Cal State Fullerton's 2015-16 campaign features 10 tournaments before the Big West Championship and NCAA Regionals. The Folino Invitational will again highlight the Titans' season as the sixth-annual tournament has become one of the premier collegiate golf destinations and will be hosted at Industry Hills Golf Club in City of Industry, Calif., on Feb. 15-16. Fullerton will also hit the links outside the state of California, visiting Washington and Arizona twice.
