CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – Entering the day atop the leaderboard, the Cal State Fullerton men's golf team held on to the top spot to claim its first ever Folino Invitational Championship on Tuesday afternoon at the Industry Hills Golf Course in City of Industry, Calif.

 Holding a 14-stroke lead over UC Irvine, the Titans shot a 291 (+3), its highest round of the tournament, finishing the three rounds of play at 1-under par 863 to capture the title.

The Anteaters tallied a final round score of 300 (+12) to finish with an overall score of (886, +22), but were actually overtaken by Sacramento State for second place in the tournament.

Fullerton ran away from Sacramento State as well, finishing 16-strokes better than the Hornets who shot an overall score of (879, +15) while shooting an identical final round to the Titans, (291, +3). British Columbia finished the tournament shooting a 40-over-par 904 to finish in fourth place, while Grand Canyon shot a final round score of 299 (+11) to finish in the invitation 56-over par 920 to land in fifth place.

The tournament victory gives the Titans its third overall event championship of the season and first ever crown while competing in its host tournament. Fullerton becomes the third different champion in tournament history amongst Long Beach State and Cal Poly. The overall score of 863 (-1) is also the best team score on record at the Folino, surpassing Cal Poly's 867 (+3) by four-strokes during the 2011 event. All five team participants Anguiano, Tetrault, Gard, De Silva and Park finished in the top-20 as individuals for the Titans.
