Fundraising Event Leads to Folino Invitational

FULLERTON, Calif. – After starting off spring competition at the Arizona Collegiate (Jan 27-28), Cal State Fullerton will host the Folino Invitational fundraising event to be held on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Industry Hills Golf Club in Industry, Calif.

Along with Microsemi Corporation, other corporate sponsors CoreLogic, Emulex, First American, and team players sponsor Jeff Van Harte will highlight the fund-raising amateur tournament. With a shotgun tee-off beginning at 10:30 a.m., the tournament's goal is to raise over $200,000 for the golf program.

The tournament is named for philanthropist Paul Folino, the primary benefactor behind the return of intercollegiate golf to Cal State Fullerton in 2009-10 after a hiatus of more than two decades.

The collegiate tournament then begins with 36 holes on Monday (Feb. 17) and concludes with the final round on Tuesday (Feb. 18). Along with the Titans of Cal State Fullerton, the balance of the men's teams competing at the fourth-annual Folino Invitational include CSU Bakersfield, UC Irvine, Cal Baptist, Sacramento State, Rutgers, Utah State, Grand Canyon and British Columbia.
