Blackmore Signs NLI to Join Men's Basketball Program

FULLERTON, Calif. – Head Coach Dedrique Taylor and the Men's Basketball program have announced the signing of Trey Blackmore for the 2022-23 season. 

"We are really excited about Trey's future, we want to continue being a part of his success. Trey is a proven winner with high character and a great student in the classroom, we are very fortunate to add him. He has shown to be a worker and his best basketball is ahead of him. With his size and ability to shoot there is no question that he will impact our culture and help us compete for a Big West Conference title."

Blackmore comes to Cal State Fullerton following an outstanding high school career at Robert G. Cole High School in San Antonio, Texas. Blackmore spent all four years on the varsity squad where he garnered individual and team success. He led his team to the district and regional championship in all four years while leading the team to a state championship his sophomore (2019-20) and junior (2020-21) seasons. 

Individually, Blackmore was named first team all-district every year while being named district MVP his junior and senior year. During his junior season he averaged 21.5 points per game along with 6.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists and was also named first team all-region, first team all-state, state championship game MVP and San Antonio Express News All-Super Team. 

Similarly, his senior year where he averaged 20.8 points per game with 5.4 boards and 3.2 assists, Blackmore was named first team all-region, first team all-state, San Antonio Express News All-Super Team along with Academic All-State. Blackmore holds the school record at Rober G. Cole High school for career points with 2,449. 

Blackmore also excelled in the classroom, graduating magna cum laude and was part of the National Honor Society.
