Butler Joins Men's Basketball Staff

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton head men's basketball coach Dedrique Taylor announced on Thursday that Kylen Butler has joined his staff as the director of basketball operations.

"I am excited to have Kylen joining our program," Taylor said. "He comes from championship pedigree at Clemson and as a former student-athlete. His energy and ability to relate to people will have an immediate impact on our program. We will see the benefit of his effort as he gets comfortable in his new role. I am excited to work alongside him as our program chases success both on and off the court."

Butler joins the Titans from Clemson where he was a graduate assistant. He attended graduate courses to successfully complete his masters of science in athletic leadership. He was tasked with helping the coaching staff in all facets of coaching, recruiting and scouiting. Additionally, he helped coordinate/run breakdown stations throughout practice and worked on player development. He was responsible for maintaining the online recruiting data base as well. 

Prior to Clemson, he was at the University of Indianapolis where he was a volunteer assistant coach. Along with the duties he performed at Clemson, Butler also helped organize all team travel, community service, study hall. The Danville, Ill. native was a member of the UIndy basketball team in 2017-18, after transferring as a player from Tusculum.
