STANFORD, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton dominated No. 17 Stanford 6-1 Saturday afternoon at Sunken Diamond to claim the series victory over the Cardinal.

With the win Head Coach Rick Vanderhook has now secured his 300th career win with the Titans in just his ninth season at the helm. His 300 wins make him the third winningest coach in the history of the program behind legendary coaches Augie Garrido and George Horton.

The Titans recorded 18 hits on its way to scoring six runs in the win over Stanford. In 2019 the Titans season-high hits in a game was 21.

Zach Lew led the way for the Titans offensively, having a career game as he went 4-for-6 at the plate with an RBI and two runs. Lew's four hits on the day are a career-high in 36 games played as a Titan. In the two games this season Lew is 5-for-9 with five runs and an RBI.

Fullerton got another great start on the mound, this time from sophomore Kyle Luckham who pitched seven innings, allowing just one run on four hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

Titus Groeneweg finished off the game for the Titans, pitching the final two innings while allowing just one hit while striking out two Stanford batters.

Much like the first game of the series on Friday night, the Titans got on the board early and often. Fullerton scored one run in each of the first three innings of the game Saturday, after scoring one run in each of the first two innings in Friday night's contest.

The Titans scored in the first inning on a RBI single to left field from Isaiah Garcia to score Lew from second. In the second, Lew was the one that came up with the RBI on a single to right field, driving in Josh Urps. Garcia had an outstanding day at the plate as well, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

Fullerton once again added to its lead in the third inning. Catcher Austin Schell started the top half of the inning with a single, his second of the day, before Demitri Colacchio singled up the middle, scoring Schell from second to record his first RBI as a Titan.

After giving up a run in the bottom half of the third inning, the Titans responded in the top of the fifth to extend the lead back to three runs. Following a leadoff single by Garcia and a sacrifice bunt to advance him to second base, Jason Brandow hit a RBI single up the middle to put the Titans up 4-1.

The Titans added to their lead again in the top half of the eighth inning to seemingly put the game out of reach. Lew singled to right field, advancing Jackson Lyon to third before he was able to score on a throwing error by Stanford. Two batters later, Garcia dropped a single into right field, scoring Lew while putting the Titans up 6-1.
