Dinner with the Titans Registration
FULLERTON, Calif. - Academy Award and Emmy-winning actor, director and Cal State Fullerton alum Kevin Costner will be the keynote speaker for the 10th annual Dinner with the Titans fundraiser, which will take place at the Irvine Marriott in Irvine, Calif on Jan. 29, 2016.
Registration is now open for the Cal State Fullerton baseball program's biggest fundraising event of the year. It serves as an opportunity for Titans fans to meet and mingle with the current team and coaches as well as former Titan greats. Reservations begin at $150 for individual tickets.
In addition, fans that purchase first-time season tickets for the 2016 season will receive a $50 discount on individual Dinner with the Titans tickets. Costner is a longtime supporter of the Cal State Fullerton baseball program and graduated with a bachelors degree in business from CSF in 1978. He is a two-time Golden Globe winner and won his first Emmy Award in 2013. He won a 1991 Academy Award for Best Director for "Dances With Wolves," which also won Best Picture that year. He was nominated for the Best Actor award for his role in the film.
He did not play baseball at Cal State Fullerton but did take a baseball class taught by the legendary Augie Garrido when Costner attended Fullerton from 1974-78.
"What Kevin and I are about is friendship," Garrido said in an interview back in 1995. "He can serve as an inspiration to any Cal State Fullerton student that they can get the kind of education at the university to be anything they want in life. Kevin is just one of the most visible examples of that."
Costner has also been a longtime supporter of college baseball as a whole and was involved with the movement to keep the NCAA College World Series in Omaha. His love for baseball is also evident in his work, as Costner has starred in classic baseball films such as "Field of Dreams," "Bull Durham," and "For Love of the Game." Other films starring Costner include "Tin Cup," "Open Range," "Wyatt Earp," "The Bodyguard," "JFK," "The Untouchables," "Man of Steel," "Draft Day," and his most recent film, "McFarland USA."

The Titans are coming off their 17th trip to the NCAA College World Series in 2015 and first since 2009, snapping the longest CWS drought in Fullerton history. It was the 41st consecutive winning season and 30-win season in the program's NCAA Division I history. Fullerton advanced to its 24th consecutive NCAA Tournament in 2015 and 37th overall in 41 years of existence.
Cal State Fullerton's 2015 recruiting class was ranked the No. 24 recruiting class in the nation, according to Collegiate Baseball newspaper's annual evaluation.
Fullerton's class ranks first among Big West Conference opponents, ahead of No. 36 UC Santa Barbara. The Titans recruiting class also ranks third amongst teams in California, trailing only UCLA at No. 6 and ahead of No. 34 USC.
