LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton managed just three hits in a 7-2 non-conference loss to No. 3 UCLA Tuesday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

The Titans (19-16) were no-hit through the first five innings and the Bruins (26-7) pounded out 10 hits on the night against five Titans pitchers.

Tyler Peitzmeier took the loss in a designated staff start, matching his season high with two and 2/3 innings pitched. He allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits. He walked one and struck out one.

Jerrod Bravo was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and reached base for the 20th consecutive game. Tyler Stieb and Hunter Cullen recorded the other two Titans hits on the night.

For the Bruins, Cody Poteet scored his third victory of the year in a staff start, going three innings and allowing just one base runner on a hit batter. He retired the first nine Titans he faced in order.

Brett Urabe and Ty Moore each went 2-for-4 to lead the Bruins offense as eight different Bruins recorded a hit on Tuesday.

The Bruins took an early 2-0 lead in the second after Ty Moore led off the frame with an infield single to third. Chris Keck singled through the right side to put the first two batters on and then each runner advanced after shortstop Tristan Hildebrandt could not handle a pick-off throw from Peitzmeier. After a grounder to third base for the first out, catcher Justin Hazard put the Bruins on the board with an RBI groundout to short, scoring Moore. One batter later, second baseman Trent Chatterton singled up the middle to score Keck and make it 2-0 UCLA.

The Bruins padded the lead in the next inning as Kevin Kramer led off with a walk and advanced to third on a double by Brett Urabe. Luke Persico plated Kramer on an RBI groundout to short and then, following a single by Moore, Urabe scored on a fielder's choice groundout by Keck to make it 4-0.

After five innings without a hit, the Titans finally broke through as Tyler Stieb doubled to lead off the sixth inning for the first Fullerton hit. Tristan Hildebrandt walked to put two runners on and then both advanced 90 feet after a groundout to first. Pinch-hitter Jerrod Bravo then stepped in and punched a 1-0 offering through the right side to score the runners to cut the Bruins lead in half, 4-2.

But the Titans got no closer as the Bruins tacked on a run in their half of the sixth along with runs in the seventh and eighth to put the game away.

Notes: The Titans are now 65-31-2 all-time against UCLA. This was the Titans first loss to the Bruins in a regular season game since May 15, 2012… Miles Chambers was the only Titans pitcher to not allow a run on Tuesday night. He went two innings and allowed one hit with three strikeouts… Tuesday was the first time the Titans have lost to a team ranked in the Baseball America Top-25. They had been 4-0 prior to Tuesday.
