Big West Release

FULLERTON, Calif. – Sophomore Josh Estill had a pair of game-winning RBIs over the weekend against Baylor and it was enough to earn him the Big West Conference Field Player of the Week Award, the conference announced Monday.

Estill batted .500 (6-for-12) with one triple and six RBIs in the Titans three-game sweep of Baylor over the weekend. The Carlsbad, Calif. native drove in the game-winning run in two of the three wins. He drove in two RBIs in all three games against the Bears to help lead a Fullerton offense that outscored Baylor 28-13 en route to a sweep.

In game two of the series against the Bears, Estill helped ignite a six-run eighth inning with a two-run single with the bases loaded to give the Titans a 7-6 lead. Fullerton would score four more times in the inning to clinch the series with an 11-6 win.

In the final game of the series, Estill recorded another two-run single in the seventh inning to give the Titans a 7-6 lead and that would be the difference as the Titans completed the sweep of the Bears at Goodwin Field.

Estill is now hitting .394 on the season with a team-high 11 RBIs.

The Titans return to the field Tuesday to host Pepperdine at Goodwin Field with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. Fullerton will then host Texas Tech for a weekend series beginning Friday at 7 p.m.

Others nominated: Justin Toerner (CSUN); Garrett Hampson (Long Beach State); Austin March (UC Davis); Mikey Duarte (UC Irvine); Vince Fernandez (UC Riverside); Andrew Calica (UC Santa Barbara); Eric Ramirez (Hawai'i)
