LUBBOCK, Texas – Cal State Fullerton's J.D. Davis was named to the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award Watch List, it was announced Tuesday.

The award, named for the Washington State star who achieved success as both a first baseman and a left-handed pitcher, will be presented as part of the annual College Baseball Hall of Fame's Night of Champions on June 28 in Lubbock, Texas. It is presented annually by the College Baseball Foundation to honor the nation's top combo pitcher-position player. Last year, Titans outfielder and closer Michael Lorenzen was named a finalist for the award.

Davis has started in all 50 games played by the Titans this season and has also made 12 appearances out of the bullpen in 2014. The Elk Grove, Calif. native leads the team with a .320 batting average and 65 hits including a team-high four triples. He has 13 doubles and 31 RBIs this season to go along with a .468 slugging percentage and a .417 on-base percentage, all ranking second on the team. Davis also has 17 multi-hit games this season including three four-hit games. He is currently in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak.

In addition to his bat, Davis has also gotten the job done on the mound for the Titans as he leads the team with six saves in seven opportunities this season. He recorded back-to-back saves in the final two games of the Titans critical three-game sweep at UC Irvine on the weekend. Overall, Davis has made 12 appearances and holds a 2-3 record with a 2.95 ERA. He has allowed just six earned runs and 20 hits to go along with 20 strikeouts.
