FULLERTON, Calif. – Former Titan great Aaron Rowand will return to Orange County on Saturday, Jan. 11 as the keynote speaker at the eighth-annual Dinner with the Titans.

 

All proceeds from Dinner with the Titans will go directly to benefit the nationally renowned Cal State Fullerton baseball program. Fans are invited to join the Titans for live music, autograph opportunities, photo booth, silent auction and much more at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim.

 

The Titans enter 2014 as the No. 1 preseason pick as evaluated by Collegiate Baseball.

 

An 11-year Major League Baseball veteran, Rowand spent three years (1996-98) in a Cal State Fullerton uniform before being drafted in the first round (sandwich pick) as the 35th overall selection by the Chicago White Sox in 1998.

 

He was drafted following an All-American season in 1998, and later became one of 23 Titan All-Americans to appear in the Majors.

 

His career numbers at Cal State Fullerton include a .345 batting average, 126 runs scored, 180 hits, 39 doubles, six triples, 23 home runs, 121 RBIs and 32 stolen bases. In 1998, the Titans finished the season with a record of 47-17, including a Big West South championship.

 

Rowand spent five seasons (2001-05), with the Chicago White Sox, two years (2006-07) with the Philadelphia Phillies and his last four seasons (2008-11) with the San Francisco Giants.

 

His career MLB accolades include a Golden Glove Award and All-Star nod in 2007 with the Philles.

 

He also won two World Series championships in 2005 (Chicago) and 2010 (San Francisco.)

 

His career MLB stats include a .273 batting average, 67 stolen bases, 536 RBIs, 136 home runs, 18 triples, 267 doubles, 613 runs and 1,193 hits.

 

Other Titan greats scheduled to appear include Gary Brown, Chad Cordero, Jason Windsor, Brent Mayne, Justin Turner and Christian Colon.

 

The 2014 season begins on Friday, Feb. 14 as Cal State Fullerton begins a three-game series against Washington State, and season ticketsticket packages and single-game tickets are currently on sale.

 

In addition, the alumni game is scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at Goodwin Field.
