FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.– The Cal State Fullerton Titans wrapped up their final day of competition at the NCAA West Preliminaries Saturday at the University of Arkansas. After sending a record number thirteen athletes to compete across eight events, the Titans had a total of five top 30 finishes in the West Region. Beginning with Junior Christian Wood, who finished 25th overall in the men's long jump after a leap of 7.44m (24'5"). Followed by strong performances of Freshman Alonzo Floriolli in both the men's 100m and 200m. Floriolli finished 26th overall in the 100m after running 10.42 [10.418] and finished 26th overall in the 200m after running a wind aided seasons' best 20.93 (+2.8). Training partner Cooper Bibbs ran 10.45 in the 100m to finish 28th overall. Sophomore Shallamar Poole finished 29th overall in the men's high jump after clearing 2.05m on his first attempt.
Day four results consisted of Junior Sela Pastrana jumping 12.30m (40'4.25") in the women's triple jump to finish 38th overall and Senior Trinity Ruelas running 16:50.01 in the women's 5000m to finish 31st overall. The 2022 Big West Championship Preview is now available to watch on ESPN+.
