College Station, Texas - The NCAA Track and Field West Preliminaries resumed on Friday on the campus of Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. It was the final day of competition on the men's side while the women will wrap up on Saturday. The Cal State Fullerton men's track and field team had three student-athletes compete on Friday but none of the three advanced to Eugene for the NCAA Championships.

In the men's discus, Corey Gilbert had a season-best toss of 179-10 (54.83m). He ended up in 20th place overall.

Marcel Sylvester cleared 6-9 (2.06m) in the high jump. He finished tied for 29th place overall.

Juwan Seales took 39th place in the triple jump with a mark of 48-10 (14.88m, +1.9 wind).
