FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton track and field wrapped up competition at the Beach Invitational on Saturday as championship season is right around the corner.
Mason Rollins was the top Titan in the 100 meters as he took 10th place overall with a time of 10.54 (+0.6 wind). Rasaun House clocked a time of 10.68 (+0.6 wind) and Marquis Rogers had a nice time of 10.69 (+1.7 wind). Rollins was the top collegian and finished fourth overall in the 200m with a personal-best time of 21.20 (-0.3 wind), the top time in the Big West this season. Sam Schubert (14.97) and Charles Kelly (15.01) took 30th and 32nd place, respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles.
Alayah Byers led the way for the Titans in the women's 100 meters with a time of 12.01 (+1.9 wind) while Elani Rice posted the quickest 200-meter time at 24.60 (+1.1 wind). Mariah Stewart's 100-meter hurdles time of 14.49 (-0.2 wind). The quartet of Byers, Stewart, Rice and Morgan Love took sixth place in the women's 4x100-meter race with a time of 46.95.
Iesha Hamm's clearance of 5-8.75 (1.75m) was good for fourth place overall in the women's high jump competition. She has cleared 5-7 (1.70m) or better in each of her five meets this outdoor season. Alexis Vincent-Walker cleared 5-5 (1.65m). In the pole vault, Shelby Noble cleared 12-4 (3.76m), the second-best mark of her career. Naiah Boardingham's long jump mark of 18-9 (5.71, +0.2 wind) was good for 18th place. Jelani Minix led the way in the triple jump with a leap of 38-6.75 (11.75m, +0.6 wind). Marcel Sylvester cleared 6-9 (2.06m) in the men's high jump to take 12th place. Trevor Gorwin had a shot put toss of 53-6.5 (16.32m).
Next up for the squad is the Steve Scott Invitational at UC Irvine on April 26-27.
