WALNUT, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men and women's track and field team continued its busy weekend in competition at the 57th annual Mt. SAC Relays meet at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif. as two Titans posted personal-best finishes while six others set season-best marks.

Late Thursday night, Jose Penaloza kicked off the Titans participation in the meet by setting a personal-best time of 30:38.14 seconds in the 10,000-meter run, shattering his previous record by nearly 30 seconds in the process.  It was the first time this season Penaloza has competed in the event after taking part in the 5,000m, 3000m, 1,500m and 800m runs in previous meets.

Tejera Dial, the standout mid-distance runner for the Titans this season, was the other Fullerton runner to set a personal-best time at the Mt. SAC Relays.  On Friday, Dial participated in the 800m run for the fifth time this year, finishing in 19th place with a time of 2:10.04 sec.  Her previous top time this season was a first-place finish at the UNLV Spring Invite when she crossed the finish line in 2:10.23 sec.

Morgan Thompson and Emily Taylor set season-best marks on Friday in the 400m run and 1,500m run, respectively.  Thompson ran her lap around the track in 55.11 sec. to take home 20th place and Taylor ran her race in 4:36.21 sec.  Taylor's previous season best came also at the UNLV Spring Invite where she ran the race in 4:57.56 sec.

The Titan men were not to be outdone, however, setting four season-best times of their own on Friday.  Taylor Ros started the day off with a time of 47.81 seconds in the 400m run, just crossing the finish line ahead of his best finish of the year at the UNLV Spring Invite (47.86 sec.) where he took first-place overall.  Chaz Harmon also got in on the fun, setting a season-best time of 48.41 sec. in the same event to take home 34th place.

Senior Nick Sole followed up the performances from Ros and Harmon with a blazing time of 10.67 sec. in the 100m dash, tying his previous season-best time that was set at the RCC Open during the opening meet of the 2015 season.

Sole, Ros and Harmon joined Joshua Gordon in the 4x400m relay as the final event of the afternoon for the Titan sprinters.  The quartet completed the day with yet another season-best finish when Ros crossed the finish line at 3:12.38 sec. to earn the Titans fifth place overall, the lone top-five finish on the day for Fullerton.

The Titans are back in action on Saturday as the throwers, sprinters and jumpers will all take part in the Beach Invitational hosted by Big West Conference opponent Long Beach State.
