Shorty Named Big West Female Track Athlete of the Week

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton sophomore sprinter Janaya Shorty captured Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors after posting three first-place finishes at the Riverside Community College Three-Way Invitational Meet on Mar. 7. 

The Victorville, Calif. native dominated the sprinting events at the RCC Three-Way Invitational coming away with the top spot in the 100-meter dash (11.76), 200m dash (23.87), and then ran the anchor leg of the 4x100m relay team that took the gold in 46.25.

Shorty is coming off a very successful Indoor campaign were she posted multiple top-five finishes, and took home the top spot in the 200m dash at the Northern Arizona Invitational over Valentine's Day weekend.

The Titans will host one of their two home meets of the season at Titan Track Complex this weekend as they compete in the annual Ben Brown Invitational Mar. 13-14.
