FULLERTON, Calif. – Members of the Cal State Fullerton men’s soccer and basketball teams as well as members of the CSUF Rugby Team came out to participate in the second annual citywide service day called Love Fullerton on Saturday, May 9 at Titan Stadium.

The athletes were amongst 70 volunteers that showed up to Cal State Fullerton to help clean up the entrance to the stadium. Overall, more than 3,000 volunteers signed up to participate in Love Fullerton.

Festivities began at 8 a.m. with food and drinks, catered by Fullerton sponsors Heroes and Roscoes, followed by a rally at 9 a.m. in Downtown Fullerton.  Volunteers then went to numerous locations, including Titan Stadium, to clean, help with projects at local parks and elementary schools or help work with the homeless. Cal State Fullerton was one of many locations including the Fox Theater, Acacia Elementary School, Valencia Park and other locations.

Love Fullerton is a partnership of more than 20 churches, city government, the Mayor and City Council, the Chief of Police, local businesses, service organizations, public and private education, and local residents all working together to enhance the world-class experience of living and working in the city.
