FULLERTON, Calif. – Seniors Summer Kerins and Nastassja Bowman saved their best for last, as the both came up with superb performances on Senior Night, Tuesday evening against California Baptist inside Titan Gym. Unfortunately, the Titans fell to the Lancers 3-1 (17-25, 25-17, 20-25, 18-25).
Kerins produced one of the best matches of her career, striking for 12 kills, five digs and a team-high three block assists on a .522 attack percentage. Bowman recorded a double-double and led the team in assists with 36, while securing 11 digs.
Felicia Marshall was the high-point player for the Titans, as she recorded a team-high 13 kills to go along with seven kills. Savahna Costello led the Titans in digs with 25, while Tatiana Toleafoa and Elizabeth Schryer each chipped in with 15. Toleafoa also came through with two service aces.
It wasn't a promising start for the Titans, as they fell 25-17 in the opening set, but the match was far from over. Fullerton responded in a big way in the second set, hitting .300 as a team en route to the dominating 25-17 victory.
The Titans managed to battle back in both the third in fourth sets to keep things close, but unfortunately couldn't quite get over the hump, as they fell 3-1.
Fullerton will hit the road and play at UC Santa Barbara, Friday at 7 pm PT.
