FULLERTON, Calif.--- It won't count in the record books, but the Titans started the season exactly how they wanted to, earning a 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-22) sweep over the Alumni in the program's annual Alumni Match, Saturday afternoon inside Titan Gym.

For Fullerton, the match serves a final tune up for the regular season, which will begin Friday vs. Fairleigh Dickinson at 11 am PT inside Titan Gym. It will be the first of a three-match schedule for the Titans in their tournament. Fullerton will play Drake later that night and Bryant at 4:30 pm PT on Saturday. Overall the Titans boast a six-match homestand to begin the year.
The Alumni came out strong to begin this match, as they raced out to a 10-6 advantage to begin the opening set. However, the Titans quickly found their legs, responding with a powerful 13-1 run to claim a 19-11 advantage.
The Titans soon claimed the opening set 25-14.
The second set was close throughout, with the Titans finally capturing their first lead at 13-12. They eventually rallied to win the set 25-21 to claim a 2-0 advantage.
Fullerton finished off the sweep over the alumni in a tightly-contested third set, 25-22. However the Alumni got their revenge, claiming a 15-11 extra set victory following the final set.
Various alumni in attendance included Brittany Moore, Alex Ward, Torrie Brown, Andrea Ragan, McKenzie Olson, Jenna Carney, Brenna Cygan, Precious Manu, Danika Miller, Jennifer Edmund and Lauren Schoenherr.
