Titans Swept by San Francisco, Yale

SAN FRANCISCO - Cal State Fullerton finished its non-conference schedule winless following a pair of 3-0 sweeps at the hands of San Francisco and Yale Saturday afternoon in the final day of the San Francisco Challenge at War Memorial Gym.

San Francisco 3, Cal State Fullerton 0 (Box Score)

Precious Manu led the Titans with nine kills and Mackenzie Olsen dished out 25 assists but the Titans came up short with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-22 defeat to the host Dons.

Summer Kerins chipped in with eight kills and Kandace Thomas added five. The Titans hit .222 as a team and had 27 digs, led by Manu's seven.

For the Dons, Katarina Pilepic led the team with 15 kills and Oluoma Okaro added 10 as Kiara McKibben and Jurja Vlasic combined for 40 of the team's 46 assists while setting the Dons to a .417 (51-11-96) attacking percentage.  

Yale 3, Cal State Fullerton 0 (Box Score)

Kerins and Kyra Hill led the Titans with six kills apiece but the Titans hit at a .021 (22-20-97) clip in a 25-14, 25-22, 25-20 loss to Yale.

The Bulldogs got 11 kills from Kelly Johnson and Kaitlyn Gibbons tacked on eight while Kelsey Crawford finished with 26 assists.

For the Titans, Paige Reed led the way with nine digs and Olsen added eight to go along with 18 assists. Kyra Smith added three blocks.

The Titans will begin Big West Conference play on Friday as they travel to UC Riverside to take on the Highlanders.
