Reed Named Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Week

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton sophomore Paige Reed earned a nod as the Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Reed set a new season-high with 19 digs in the Titans sweep over UC Riverside on Saturday night at Titan Gym. She averaged 6.33 digs per set on the night and also chipped in with two assists and a service ace.

The Vallejo, Calif. native notched also had 13 digs in Thursday night's match at UC Davis, bringing her total to 32 for the week. She averaged 5.33 digs per set overall in two matches and six sets played for the Titans. 

Reed has recorded double-digit digs in her last eight matches, tallying 15-plus digs in six of them. She becomes the second Titans player to earn the Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Week award and first since McKenna Painton was given the nod after the first week of the season.
