OC Register StoryFULLERTON, Calif. – Mirin Fader of the Orange County Register recently caught up with Cal State Fullerton freshman Niki Withers and talked to the first-year outside hitter about her season with the Titans and goals for the future.
In 2014, Withers leads the Titans and is third in the Big West Conference with 270 kills and a 3.60 kills per set average. The Lakewood, Calif. native has earned three Big West Freshman Player of the Week awards this season and recorded 25 kills in a five-set victory over Georgetown on Sept. 20, the most by a Titans player in a single match this year.
