Burkett joined the Titan coaching staff prior to the start of the 2018-19 academic year.

A native of San Diego, Calif., Burkett has 16 years of coaching experience and will begin her third season at the collegiate level in the fall of 2020.

Burkett had been the head men's and women's tennis coach at La Jolla Country Day School from August of 2009 until she decided to join the Titans coaching staff. She also volunteered as a member of the Advisory Council and was an Upper School Advisor at the school. She led the teams to a combined eight CIF Championships. She was named the 2010 CIF San Diego Men's Coach of the Year and was inducted into the La Jolla Country Day School Hall of Fame in 2014.

Since her playing career ended at the collegiate level in 2005, Burkett has been coaching tennis ever since. She has been a tennis instructor with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and a private tennis instructor at the Junior Tennis Development of La Jolla since 2006.

A graduate of Arizona State University, Burkett played on the women's tennis team all four years and made three Sweet 16 appearances with the Sun Devils. She earned a degree in Kinesiology in 2005 and minored in Spanish.
