PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The Titans picked up a pair of wins this Thursday in the singles bracket out at the Jack Kramer Club Invite. Genevieve Zeidan and Caisey Lee Emery will both be playing in Round of 16 this Friday.
Genevieve Zeidan set the Titans on a good start defeating UCSB's Valero in two sets in the morning. She won her game 6-2,6-2 and will be playing again tomorrow in Round of 16 against Baylor's Sorokolet who is the No.4 seed in the bracket. The game will be this Friday at 1:30pm PT.
At 3 pm, three Titans were taking the courts in the first round of the singles bracket. Caisey Lee Emery finished her game first blanking her opponent 6-0,6-0. Emery will be facing tournament's No. 3 seed Broomfield from UCLA this Friday at 1:30pm PT.
Masako Makiba and Karla Portalatin both came short in their singles game and will now compete in the consolation bracket. Portalation was defeated 6-2,6-0 against Lekaj's while Makiba could not get past UCSB Goncharova with a 6-3,6-3 loss.
Emery and Makiba were teaming up to play the only doubles game of the day and fought hard against the University of Arizona duo of Heynemans and Van Aelst. The Titans lost the game 8-6.
Zeidan and Portalatin will play their first doubles game of the weekend tomorrow morning.
