NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - In day one of the CSUN Matador Invitational, Cal State Fullerton came out strong and advances to day two. 

The Titans tandem of Jadie Acidera and Luxizi Meng defeated Westmount duo Pierson/ Cheung-Damonte 6-4.  Acidera/ Meng went on to face Youngstown State University's Moraleja/Zagar where they kept their momentum strong and pushed past YSU with a score of 6-0.  Acidera and Meng will play Saturday at 9:00 a.m. against Iowa State's Espindola/Alvarez tandem. 

Keeping doubles play strong for Fullerton was the tandem of Genevieve Zeidan and Caisey Lee Emery who took down UC Riverside's Dulay/ Van 6-1. Unfortunately Zeidan and Emery would be stopped by hosting CSUN's tandem of Van De Vondel/Alcon 7-6. 

Karla Portalatin and Sarah Nuno who have an overall record of 6-1, continued their duo domination with a win over Antonijevic/Kadeljevic 7-5 of Oral Roberts University. Advancing to the second round, Portalatin and Nuno faced off against Iowa State's Freeman/Bonnadona to win 6-4.  The duo will take on CSUN's Elhadj/Dinkelmeyer, Saturday at 9:00 a.m.

Tiani Jadulang and Taylor Valenzuela were unsuccessful in their matchup against UCR's Pham/ Penner and lost 4-6, however bounced back in their second winning 6-0.  Jadulang and Valenzuela will play Saturday at 11:00 a.m. against Cal State Los Angeles's Ivanovich/Schwartz.

Luxizi Meng started singles play against Youngstown's Imaan Hassim, Meng proved succesfull with a score of  7 - 5, 6 - 2.  Meng will play Cade Pierson Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

Taylor Valenzuela notched a win over CSLA's Snezana Ivanovich 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. . Valenzuela will play Saturday at 11:30 against Taylor Cheung-Damonte . 

Caisey Lee Emery kept things going for the Titans with a win over UC Irvine's Danielle Garrido  3 - 6, 6 - 2, 6 - 1.  Emery will play LBSU's Georgia Gulin Saturday at 10:00 a.m.  Jadie Acidera fell short against APU's Jackie Resler 2-6, 6(3)-7. Acidera will play at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow against Irvine's Arianna Tilbury.

Genevieve Zeidan had another stellar performance, defeating CSUN's Ki Kim  6-2, 6-4. Zeidan will play Iowa's Maty Cancini. Sarah Nuno also kept her streak going with a win over Azusa's Diana Baumgartnere 6 - 3, 6 - 1. Nuno will face off against Long Beach's Lena Pacholski tomorrow. Nuno's doubles partner Karla Portalatin also had a win over Riverside's Karla Dulay 6 - 3, 6 - 3.  Portalatin will go one-on-one against CSUN's Monika De Vondel. 

Jadulang wrapped up the day with a win over LA's Chelsey Ruiz 6 - 4, 2 -6, 6 - 2.  Jadulang will compete against UCR's Tamilla Vaksman tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
