FULLERTON, Calif – After coming off a program record season, head coach Dianne Matias, in her fifth season, released the Titans 2017-2018 schedule on Monday.
The Titans ended last season with an outstanding 19-4 overall record and a 5-3 in conference play. Fullerton made it to the semifinals where they lost loss 4-1 to regular season champion Hawai'i.
"We're excited to start our 2017-2018 season," said head coach Dianne Matias. "Our goal for our Fall season is to play a lot of matches, to get in extremely good shape for the Spring, and for our Freshmen to gain as much match experience as possible. We start out the Spring season with the ITA- kick-off weekend in Gainesville against the defending NCAA Champion. To compete early against the top team in the nation is going to be beneficial for us down the road when we start our conference play."
Fullerton's recruiting class received a No. 9 mid-major ranking from TennisRecruiting.net as the Titans welcome a total of five newcomers for the 2017-18 season.
Alumna, Alexis Valenzuela joins the team once again in her first year as a volunteer coach for the Titans.
Titans welcome Jadie Acidera from JSerra Catholic High School, Caisey Lee Emery from El Camino High School, Tiani Judalang from Xavier Prep High School, Taylor Valenzuela from West Covina High School and Genevieve Zeidan, from Zhongxing High School.
Zeidan is starting her freshmen debut strongly after she went a perfect 4-0 in singles play over the weekend.
Fullerton picks back up in San Diego at the ITA West Regionals on Oct. 19-23.
