LONG BEACH, Calif. – Freshman Genevieve Zeidan finished off her perfect run through Flight C at the Beach Fall Tournament, defeating LMU's Camily Tusmosa in dramatic fashion, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 to claim the flight championship on Sunday.
Genevieve has started her Fullerton career with a bang, as she went a perfect 4-0 in singles play over the weekend, while only dropping one set over her four matches.
In all, the Titans captured four singles victories on Sunday including Karla Portalatin defeating Montana's Julia Ronney in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 to take home the Flight A consolation title.
Sarah Nuno also upended Portland State's Thompson, 6-3, 6-2, while Tiani Jadulang got past UC Irvine's Tsodikova, 4-6, 7-6(3), 10-4.
Luxizi Meng had a good run, but fell in the Flight B championship to Washington State's Aneta Milsovska, 6-4, 6-1.
Sarah Nuno and Karla Portalatin advanced to the Flight A Doubles championship, but fell to Long Beach State's Munoz and Pacholski 6-1.
Taylor Valenzuela and Tiani Jadulang teamed up to defeat Portland State's Knecht/Upeniece 6-4 in extra match play. Masako Makiba and Caisey Lee Emery followed suite, as the tandem defeated UC Irvine's duo Tsodikova/Tilbury 6-1.
