FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team earned its first Big West Athlete of the Week this season thanks to Danielle Pham's perfect 2-0 record in singles play against Colorado State and Wyoming University.
Pham earned victories from the No. 4 singles position on Mar. 18 against Maddie Buxton of Colorado State and on Mar. 19 against Jessica Parizher of Wyoming University. The freshman earned the victory over Buxton 6-1, 6-3 and was also a key part to earning the point in doubles play over the Rams, teaming up with Alexis Valenzuela and taking down the CSU duo of Porter/Hernandez 6-1.
The Irvine, Calif. native completed her perfect week in singles play by defeating WU's Parizher 6-3, 6-2 en route to earning one of the Titans two points on the match.
The Titans went 1-1 on the week, beating Colorado State 6-1 and falling to Wyoming University 5-2.
Fullerton is back in action on Thursday, Apr. 2 to continue Big West Conference play against Cal Poly at 12:00 p.m. in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
