IRVINE, CA – Cal State Fullerton visits UC Irvine Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. for a Big West Conference women's tennis match that could go down to the last set.
Both teams' most recent competition was against Pacific from the West Coast Conference. Fullerton lost to the Tigers, 4-3, Saturday when the visitors from Stockton broke a 3-3 tie by winning two of the three doubles matches. UCI defeated those same Tigers Sunday, 4-3, by winning the doubles point, two sets to one, before the teams split the six singles contests.
In singles play, Pacific won at Nos. 2, 4 and 6 vs. Fullerton while it got victories at Nos. 1, 2 and 6 vs. UCI.
Irvine is 8-3 overall and 2-0 in Big West play. The Titans are 5-6 overall but 0-3 in the Big West. Their last three losses all have come via a 4-3 score – to Pacific, CSUN and UC Davis.
