Erasmus Win Decisive for Titans

FULLERTON, CA – Michelle Erasmus won the No. 5 singles match in a tie-breaker for the decisive fourth point and Cal State Fullerton edged Azusa Pacific, 4-3, Wednesday afternoon in non-conference women's tennis action on the Titan Courts.

Erasmus defeated Lindsey Yeom, 6-4, 7-6 (6-3) to put the Titans ahead to stay at 4-2.  Azusa Pacific won the No. 6 singles match to complete the scoring.

Fullerton is now 3-3 on the season while the Cougars lost the opener of their first official NCAA Div. II season.  They previously competed under the auspices of NAIA.

Fullerton won the critical doubles point by a 2-1 margin.

The Titans are idle until a Feb. 14 Big West Conference match at home vs. UC Davis.
