Cal State Fullerton returns to the Titan Courts Friday for its Big West Conference opener against defending champion Long Beach State.  The match begins at 1:30 p.m. and there is no admission charge.

The 49ers are ranked No. 40 in the nation and are opening their dual season while the Titans are off to a 2-2 start with home wins over Nevada and UC San Diego and weekend losses at San Diego State and University of San Diego.

Long Beach State is led by reigning Big West player of the year Maeva Razakasoa, who was last week's Big West player of the week after defeating the nation's No. 60 and No. 75-ranked players in an early January tournament.  The sophomore is ranked No. 16 in the Southwest Region.  She is 14-5 on the season, winning 9 of her last 10 matches.

Fullerton's nominee for the weekly Big West honor a week ago was Alexis Valenzuela, who won the decisive No. 1 singles match for the 4-3 win over UCSD in the season opener.

Next week the Titans host Azusa Pacific at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
