FULLERTON, Calif. – Second-year Cal State Fullerton women's tennis head coach Dianne Matias has announced the signing of Sarah Nuno to a National Letter of Intent.
Nuno, currently a senior at Granada Hills Charter High School, has participated in four years of varsity tennis for the Highlanders and head coach Simon Robertshaw.
"We are very excited to have Sarah join the Titan family, Matias said. "She will be a valuable addition to our program. Sarah brings a tremendous amount of talent and skill. She is a tough competitor with a great work ethic and is a solid student. I know she will have a great impact on our program. We are looking forward to working with her development on and off the court."
Nuno is a two-time (2011, 2012) CIF Los Angeles City champion compiling a 41-1 record while being named the team's singles Most Valuable Player for four consecutive years.
During her junior year, she also won the CIF Los Angeles City doubles championship with her older sister Samantha.
Nuno also led the Highlanders to four straight CIF Los Angeles City championship matches, winning titles in 2011 and 2012.
A native of Sylmar, Calif., Nuno is rated by Tennis Recruiting Network as a four-star recruit. She is currently evaluated as the 97th-ranked tennis player in the 2015 class nationally, 25th in the Southwest Region and 20th in the state of California.
The Titans return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 14, opening the 2015 season against Cal State Los Angeles at Titan Tennis Courts.
