FULLERTON, Calif. – Fresh off her first win as head coach of the Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team, first-year head coach Dianne Matias faces her next test on Friday, opening Big West Conference play at No. 46 Long Beach State.

The Titans will then host Nevada at 9 a.m., Saturday, at the Titan Tennis Courts.

Cal State Fullerton opens Big West play on Friday at No. 46 Long Beach State, before returning to the Titan Tennis Courts for a non-conference match with Nevada at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The Titans, under the leadership of first-year head coach Dianne Matias, are off to a 1-1 start.

Freshman Camille De Leon holds a 2-0 record in singles action, while the doubles team of junior Kalika Slevcove and freshman Alexis Valenzuela is also 2-0 on the young season.
 

Playing at No. 1 in the lineup in last Saturday's 4-3 win over Air Force, senior Morgan McIntosh recorded a 6-1, 6-1 victory in singles action. In addition, Valenzuela earned her first singles win of the season last week, recording a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Natasha Rizvi at the No. 2 spot in the lineup.

Opponents

Cal State Fullerton travels to Long Beach State (2-1) as the 46th-ranked 49ers have won 12 consecutive home matches at the Rhodes Tennis Center, including a 4-3 victory over then No. 46 San Diego State last Saturday.

Dating back to 1980, the 49ers hold a 37-15 advantage in the all-time series against Cal State Fullerton. Dating back to 2005, Cal State Fullerton is 0-9 in Big West Conference openers including a 0-3 mark in league openers on the road as well as an 0-4 mark against LBSU in league openers.

Since 2006, Cal State Fullerton and Nevada have met just twice with the Wolf Pack wining both of the meetings in 2006 and 2013.

Nevada opened the season with a 5-2 loss at Hawai'i before edging San Jose State, 4-3.
