2008 JUDI GARMAN SOFTBALL CLASSIC
Presented by Coach USA

Judi Garman Classic Logo Cal State Fullerton once again welcomes some of the nation's best collegiate softball teams to Southern California to compete in one of the country's most prestigious tournaments - the Judi Garman Classic.

The 2008 Judi Garman Classic presented by Coach USA, named after the former Titan Hall of Fame Head Softball Coach and widely regarded as the premiere mid-season collegiate tournament in the country, will be held at the dual diamond Titan Softball Complex on Wednesday, March 19, to Saturday, March 22.

This year's edition will be quite special as, for the second time in the history of the tournament, the United States National Team will make Fullerton one of their stops during its "Bound for Beijing" Tour in preparation for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in China.

The 2008 tournament will also feature a different format than what fans have become accustomed to in previous seasons as the 16-team field will compete in a round-robin format over a four-day span with each team playing five games.

Former NCAA Champions Oklahoma (2000), Fresno State (1998), and Michigan (2005), along with eight-time defending National Champion Arizona (1991, 1993-94, 1996-97, 2001, 2006-07) join host Cal State Fullerton (1986) in this year's event as the field includes seven schools ranked in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association top 25 poll and one more team that received votes.

The Judi Garman Classic features nine former tournament champions in Arizona (1988, 1995-96, 1998), Arizona State (1999), Cal State Northridge (1993), Fresno State (1990), Louisiana-Lafayette (1994), Texas (2006), Washington (2000, 2004), Michigan (2005), and two-time defending champion Oklahoma (1997, 2007) will compete along with the host Titans (1981-82, 1985-87, 1991-92, 2001-02).
