FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton (12-7split their doubleheader on the final day of the Judi Garman Classic with a 0-2 loss to No. 5 Washington and a dominant 19-1 win over New Mexico.

Taylor Dockins got the start in game one receiving the loss against the Huskies throwing three innings allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out three. Sophie Frost would come in out of the bullpen and throw the remaining four innings allowing one run on four hits and three walks.

Offensively, the Titans could not get anything going against the Washington pitching once again. Deshea Hill led the way with a 2-3 performance while Ari Williams went 1-3. Fullerton hitters struck out 16 times against Taran Alvelo.

Washington plated runs in back-to-back innings with an RBI single in the third off Dockins and an RBI groundout in the fourth against Frost.

That would be more than enough run support for Alvelo who dominated the Titans all game long allowing just six baserunners.

Fullerton would have a quick turnaround as they played game two of their doubleheader against New Mexico.

Dani Martinez got the start in the circle throwing four innings only allowing one run on one hit and two walks while striking out six. She had a no-hitter through 3.1 innings, but gave up a solo home run losing the no-hitter and shutout with one swing. Mia Marinakis would come in to relieve Martinez for the fifth and throw a perfect inning while striking out one.

It was an absolute slugfest for the Titan offense against Lobo pitching as they totaled 19 runs on 13 hits and 10 walks. Daisy Munoz had an absolute monster game going 2-2 with two home runs and seven RBI with both home runs coming in the third inning. Sam Kennedy (1-1, HR, 2 RBI), Kelsie Whitmore (1-2, HR, 2 RBI), and Alexa Neil (2-3, HR, RBI, 2 R) all clubbed home runs in the win giving Fullerton five for the game.

Ari Williams had a career game going 4-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Janelle Rodriguez went 1-3 at the plate with three runs scored while Irie Siofele went 1-2 with a run scored. Deshea Hill was the last Titan with a hit going 1-4 with a run scored.

Fullerton got on top right out of the gate plating three runs in the bottom of the first inning starting with an RBI double off the bat of Williams to bring in Neil. Three batters later, Kennedy clubbed her third home run of the season, a two-run shot to left field.

After a quiet second inning, the Titans had a huge third inning sending 13 batters to the plate scoring 10 runs in the inning. Rodriguez got the inning going with a leadoff single and came in to score on Munoz's first home run of the game. Siofele, the next batter, would walk and come in to score on Whitmore's second home run of the weekend. Neil would go back-to-back driving it to the opposite field as the ball cleared the left-center fence for her first Titan home run.

New Mexico would be forced to go to the bullpen and the new pitcher would allow back-to-back singles followed by a fielding error to bring in another run. Kennedy would walk as the next batter and Munoz would launch her second home run of the inning, a grand slam to left-center.

New Mexico would get on the board in the top of the fourth on a solo home run to make it 13-1.

Already up by 12 runs, the Titan offense got back to work in the bottom of the fourth plating six runs starting with a bases loaded single from Williams to bring in two runs. From there, four consecutive walks would bring in three more runs for Fullerton and a groundout would bring in the Titans' 19th and final run of the ballgame.

Cal State Fullerton finishes the Judi Garman Classic with a 3-1 record and will look to continue the success into the Silicon Valley Classic next weekend.
