FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton (2-1) split their double-header on day two of the Titan Classic with a 5-4 walk-off victory over Buffalo and dropping the game 9-0 against Louisville.

Janelle Rodriguez was the hero in game one driving in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. She finished the game 2-3 with two RBI and a walk. Irie Siofele was the catalyst throughout the game going 3-3 with a solo home run and a walk. Alexa Neil, Ari Williams, Deshea Hill, and Julia Valenzuela all recorded hits in the win as well.

In the circle, Dani Martinez made her Titan debut going 4.1 innings before allowing her first hit. She finished the game allowing four runs on one hit and eight walks while striking out eight. Rodriguez relieved her throwing 1.2 shutout innings allowing just three hits while striking out three. Taylor Dockins closed out the game and picked up the victory throwing two innings allowing just one hit while striking out three.

Siofele got things going early as the number two hitter and launching a monster shot down the left field line to give the Titans an early 1-0 lead.

Fullerton added to their lead with two more runs in the fourth on an error and a Rodriguez single up the middle.

Buffalo responded in a big way as Catrell Robertson ended Martinez's no-hit bid with a grand slam over the left field wall giving the Bulls a 4-3 lead with one swing of the bat.

However, the Titans would not go down without a fight. Dockins would enter the game with runners on second and third go on to strike out the side to get out of the jam.

The offense would respond with three straight infield singles from Neil, Siofele, and Williams in the bottom of the seventh to bring in the tying run and send the game into extras.

After another shutdown inning from the Corona native, Fullerton would walk it off once again on Rodriguez's second RBI single of the night.

With a quick turnaround, Fullerton was set for game two against Louisville to cap off day two off the Titan Classic.

The offense was held in check by Louisville's Danielle Watson as Williams was the only Titan to have a knock, going 1-2 in the game.

In the circle, Sophie Frost could not stop the Louisville offense as she went four innings allowing nine runs (eight earned) on five hits and six walks. She was relieved in the fifth inning by Mia Marinakis who threw one inning allowing just one hit.

Louisville took control right out of the gate with two runs in the top of the first. They added to it with four more in the third and three in the fifth to put the run-rule into effect and ending this one early.

The Titans will look to bounce back against former Big West rival Utah State tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m.
