BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Former Titan Ashley Carter (2010-13) has become the newest addition to the Cal State Bakersfield coaching staff.

Carter joins Bakersfield after four years at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. In her final year at SRU, Carter helped guide the squad to a 24-19 record, its highest win total since 2008. In Carter's four years with the school, Slippery Rock had 13 student-athletes earn All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division honors and one was selected as the PSAC West's Athlete of the Year.

A former professional softball player, Carter was a member of the Pennsylvania Rebellion, the California A's, and Team Ruthless, a squad that was coached by former USA Olympian Crystl Bustos.

As a Titan, the outfielder recorded team-highs in hits, batting average, runs scored, extra base hits, and stolen bases. She earned Big West honors twice, an Honorable Mention in her sophomore season and First Team honors in her junior season. She currently ranks fourth all-time in triples.
