Newton will be inducted with seven other individuals who have made an impact on Mt. SAC athletics, which include world renowned track and field coach Dr. Ernie Gregoire, former baseball coach Art Mazmanian, and Super Bowl Champion Antonio Pierce.

"Wow, what a lifetime achievement that I am truly honored to receive. It's an awesome opportunity to leave a footprint in the brick dust along with the other Mt. SAC softball legends," said Newton.

Newton played for the Titans in 1982 and 1983, and helped CSF to a third-place finish at the first-ever NCAA sponsored Women's College World Series in 1982. The former second baseman anchored the infield for the 1983 national runners-up squad and was named to the all-tournament team for her efforts. Before her career as a Titan began, Newton competed at Mt. SAC for two years (1980-81) prior, earning all-state honors, among others, and will be inducted into the Mt. SAC Hall of Fame in March as a member of the class of 2013. In addition, Newton was a cheerleader and ran relays for the Mt. SAC track team.

In 1992, she founded the Pam Newton's All-American Softball Club, and has been training young talent ever since. She spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Pasadena City College in 1985 and 1986 helping the Lancers to a pair of conference championships and then was the Head Coach at Christ College Irvine (now Concordia College) in 1987 and 1988.

As a USA Jr. National Softball head coach, her Jr. National Teams earned the gold medal at the Pan American Championships in 2002 and won silver at the VII ISF Junior Women's Softball World Championships. She has been named USA Olympic Committee Development Coach of the Year twice.

"I have been blessed to achieve awards, accolades, World Gold Medals and many other wonderful achievements but this honor of my induction into the Mt. SAC Hall of Fame is a monumental achievement that I will always cherish."
