After her press conference on Oct. 4, Ford assumed the reigns of the Cal State Fullerton softball program which enters the 2013 season with an overall record of 1336-679-2. The Titans won the national championship in 1986, and the club has made 27 postseason appearances (including two in 1980 and 1981 when teams competed in the AIAW) and boasts 28 All-Americans among its alumnae.

Since 2002, Ford guided the Mt. SAC program to four California State Championships (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009), seven South Coast Conference Championships (2003-08, 2001) and earned South Coach Conference Coach of the Year honors five times. The book closed on Ford's 11-year career with the community college with a staggering 455-102-1 (.816) record.
Ford worked with Cal State Fullerton as an assistant coach in 2000 and 2001, and during that tenure the Titans combined for a record of 93-29 (.762), and made two postseason appearances.
