FULLERTON, Calif. - Coming off the 2020 spring semester, Titans Athletics had the best academic semester ever with a cumulative GPA of 3.32. Student-Athletes who are flourishing away from their field of play will continued to be honored through Student Spotlight. This week's honoree is women's soccer student-athlete Haley Brown.

A natvie of Walnut Creek in the Bay Area, Brown graduated from Las Lomas High School and joined the Titans in the fall of 2017. She boasts a 3.98 cumulative GPA, is on the Dean's List at Cal State Fullerton and is pursuing a degree in child and adolescent development (CAS).

She has volunteered her time at St. Joseph's Hospital in the summer of 2019 through the fall. Brown has also worked at an after-school program in the Fullerton area and worked with a student as a college mentor to work on applications and prepare for life in college. Furthermore, she worked as a course assistant for CAS 301 and was also a research assistant for one of her professors.

In addition to all of the time and effort she expends away from the field, she logged 1,403 minutes for the 2019 season and scored seven goals and assisted nine others. She scored two match-winning goals in 2019, including the winner against CSUN to give the Titans the Big West regular season title.

The honorees are chosen by the Athletics Academics Services staff. For example, a student-athlete that is also tutor or a member of a leadership committee would be things that could could help an athlete garner the recognition. Titans student-athletes remain busy with their sport responsibilities but still find ways to thrive in the classroom as well as impact the community.
