Titans Add 10 to 2018 Recruiting Class

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's soccer head coach Demian Brown has signed 10 future Titans to National Letters of Intent, it was announced on Monday.

2017 proved to be a monumental year for the Titans as they advanced to the Big West Tournament for the sixth consecutive year. With the win over the Matadors on Nov. 5, the Titans progressed to their eighth all-time NCAA appearance where faced off against No. 11 Pepperdine in Malibu, Calif. and lost 1-0 in the opening round of 64.

The Titans finished the regular season fourth in the division with a record of 11-5-3 (3-3-1). Fullerton went undefeated in the first five games of the season before suffering a 2-1 loss from Utah in double overtime.

Brown completed his 11th season at the helm of the Titans. Cal State Fullerton is 103-90-29 under Brown. In conference play, the Titans are 48-33-7 under Brown with four Big West regular season championships and five Big West Tournament titles.

Audrey Basa, D, Corona, Calif./ Santiago HS

High School: Played four years on varsity soccer for Santiago High School...The only freshman to make varsity and started in CIF matches...Earned  1st Team All League and All Area 1st Team in 2017...Awarded Defensive Player of the Year 2017...Named Team Captain her senior year.

Head Coach Demian Brown:  "Audrey is a solid defender with the ability to play any of defensive positions."

Amanda Torres, D, Simi Valley, Calif./ Royal HS

High School: Played and started all three years on varsity squad for Royal HS...Awarded Second Team All-League as a freshman...First Team All-League as a sophomore... Second leading goal scorer on the varsity with nine goals during her sophomore year...Member of the National Honors Society.

Head Coach Demian Brown: "Amanda is an outstanding outside back who can attack as well as she defends."

Emelia Owen, D, San Diego, Calif./ University City HS

High School: Played three years of varsity soccer for University City..Earned a spot on the Second-Team her sophomore and junior year.

Head Coach Demian Brown: "She is a physically strong and athletic attacking player. Her ability to hold the ball under pressure will help our attack."

Kamryn O'Brien, F, Hemet, Calif./ West Valley HS

High School: Played four years of varsity soccer and track and field...Named to CIF Southern Section Division 6 All CIF team...During the '15-'16 season she was MaxPreps Player of the Year for West Valley Soccer…

Head Coach Demian Brown: "She is an all out forward.  She has a great instinct to score goals and the speed to stretch the opposing team"

Noa Schumacher, GK, Torrance, Calif./ North HS

High School: Spent first two years on varsity track and field and soccer...First Team All Pioneer League freshman year...Earned Second Team All Pioneer League and Most Inspirational Player Award sophomore year...

Head Coach Demian Brown: "She is an athletic goalkeeper with a great command of box.  Her distribution will help us start attacks and maintain possession."

Jackelyne Espinosa, M, Oxnard, Calif./ Pacifica HS

High School: Spent three years on the varsity squad playing for Pacifica...Awarded, Best Offensive Player her freshman year, and Golden Boot her sophomore and junior year.

Head Coach Demian Brown: "An aggressive attacking center mid. She has great vision and the ability to strike from distance."


Kristen Swales, M/F, Porter Ranch, Calif./ Heritage Christian

High School: Played three years of varsity soccer for Heritage...Awarded Second-Team All-League in 2015, First-Team All-League for 2016 and 2017, Defensive MVP 2016, Offensive Player of the Year 2017, MVP 2017, and named team captain in 2017.

Head Coach Demian Brown: "A dynamic and skillful attacking player. The program will benefit from her skill, speed and height."

Kaya Hawkinson, D, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./ Palos Verdes HS

High School: Played three years of varsity soccer...spent her senior year playing academy...Awarded Coach's award and All Bay League Honorable Mention her freshman year...Named team MVP, All Bay League First Team, All CIF SS Division II Third Team and All Area Daily Breeze Second Team, sophomore year...Her junior year she was named team captain and All Bay League First Team and All Area Daily Breeze Second Team.

Head Coach Demian Brown: "A talented defensive midfielder who can read the game extremely well. Also an excellent passer and will add a play making element to our program."


Mikayla E. Campbell, F, Apple Valley, Calif./ Oak Hills HS

High School: Played three years of varsity soccer and two years of varsity track and field...Earned Player of the game against Beaumont and Silverado in 2017...Also earned player of the game in 2016 against Arlington and Rancho Cucamonga...set the school record for 4x4 relay in 2016.

Head Coach Demian Brown: "A true left sided winger who will add a tremendous amount speed to our attack."


Katelin Bebe, F, Redondo Beach, Calif./ Redondo Union HS

High School: Played three years on the varsity squad while also playing one year of lacrosse...Recognized as a scholar athlete from her freshman to junior year...On Principal's Honor Roll all four years...Awarded Seal of Biliteracy, and Spanish II Student of the Year.

Head Coach Demian Brown: "extremely fast and fit wide player. Her one on one and crossing ability will add to our attack."
