ATHENS, Ga. - Cal State Fullerton struggled to get anything going offensively as the Titans suffered a 2-0 shutout loss at Georgia Sunday afternoon at UGA Soccer Stadium.

"This was a very challenging weekend against two strong programs," said Titans Head Coach Demian Brown. "We played better today but will continue to focus our training efforts in front of goal."

The Titans were outshot 22-7 overall by the Bulldogs and managed just three shots on target. Fullerton was outshot 14-3 in the first half and trailed at halftime for the second straight match.

The Titans suffered a second consecutive shutout after falling to Auburn, 2-0, on Friday night. It was the first time the Titans were blanked in two straight games in nearly three years when they fell to UC Riverside and Cal Poly by identical 1-0 scores on Oct. 13 and 18, 2013.

The Titans fell behind in the 32nd minute as Lauren Tanner fired a left-footed strike from just outside the box and curved it high and over the outstretched arm of Titans goalkeeper Jennifer Stuart and into the back of the net.

It stayed that way until the 77th minute when the Bulldogs added to the lead on a penalty kick. Kelsey Killean had a breakaway and Titans defender Savannah Sloniger chased her down but stumbled and would end up tripping Killean to give the Bulldogs the penalty. Killean fired the shot past Stuart to put the Titans down 2-0.

Stuart made five saves in goal for the Titans while Georgia goalkeeper Louise Hogrell stopped all three shots she faced.

Fullerton will return home this weekend to face Utah State and San Jose State on Friday night and Sunday afternoon respectively at Titan Stadium.
