Four Titans Earn Big West All-Conference Individual Awards

IRVINE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton took four out of the six 2015 Big West Women's Soccer All-Conference individual awards as senior Rebecca Wilson earned back-to-back Offensive Player of the Year honors, senior Morgan Batcheller claimed Defensive Player of the Year accolades, while senior Christina Burkenroad was named Midfielder of the Year, and senior Jennifer Stuart captured the Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Rounding out the individual awards were Mallory Hromatko of UC Santa Barbara who was named Freshman of the Year and head coach Paul Stumpf, also of UCSB, who took home Coach of the Year accolades.

In addition to earning individual awards, the quartet were all named to the Big West All-Conference First Team, while sophomore midfielder Connie Caliz earned Second Team honors and freshmen Jessica Simonian and Amanda Larsson were selected to the All-Freshman Team.

Wilson became the first Titan in Fullerton history to be named Offensive Player of the Year in back-to-back campaigns after recording a league-high 18 goals and 41 points. Both are figures that crack the conference's all-time top 10 list. Wilson's 18 goals are fourth-best in the nation, while her 41 points tie for fourth-best across all Division I programs.

The Placentia, Calif., native went on a six-game scoring streak from Aug. 23 – Sept. 11 and recorded multiple scores in a single game four times this season, including the first hat trick recorded by a Titan in three years on Oct. 11. The senior is just the seventh player in Fullerton history to record at least seven points in a single game. Wilson has been named the Big West Offensive Player of the Week three times in her career, including an honor in 2015.

Batcheller has dominated the backfield starting in all 18 contests with three goals and an assist for seven points. The product out of Carlsbad, Calif., helped Fullerton to a No. 3 seed in the conference tournament, while contributing to the Titans' 0.92 goals against average which ranks third in the league.

In her four years at Cal State Fullerton, Batcheller has started in 77 games overall, while starting in all contests during her sophomore, junior and senior campaigns.

Burkenroad received her first Big West Conference honors with Midfielder of the Year accolades as she became the fourth Titan to take home the award. She led the league in assists with 10, while recording 24 points, a figure that tied for third in the conference. Burkenroad's 10 assists are second in Fullerton's single-season history, while tying for eighth in the Big West record books.

A San Diego, Calif., native, Burkenroad capped off the regular-season with seven goals, the second-most netted by a Titan, and recorded two-game winners in CSF's journey to the conference tournament. She also helped the Titans to their third regular-season title in four years and aided Fullerton in its record-setting open to the 2015 season with the best start in Cal State Fullerton history at 6-0-1.

Stuart captured Goalkeeper of the Year honors and became the fourth Titan to earn the award, while 2015 marks the sixth time Cal State Fullerton has earned the distinction. She led the league with 12 wins while posting the second-best goals against average at 0.71.

The product out of Cave Creek, Ariz., played 1275:23 minutes between the posts, while allowing just 10 goals in 15 games played. Stuart started 15 matches for the Titans and recorded 52 saves. She was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 26.
