Titans Volunteer with Soccer For Hope

FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team took a break from preparing for its 2014 season opener, volunteering on Tuesday morning at the annual "Soccer for Hope" camp in Mission Viejo, Calif.

The Titans spent a full morning teaching new drills and interacting with over 100 young, aspiring soccer stars in an effort to raise money and awareness for children with life threatening diseases.

"We have volunteered with Soccer for Hope for over 10 years," Head Coach Demian Brown said. "Our student-athletes really enjoy the opportunity to use soccer as a way to give back to the community, as Soccer For Hope focuses on supporting children and families battling cancer. We know that the annual camp is a major fundraiser and awareness tool for the organization, and our team looks forward to participating each year.

Soccer For Hope has progressed from a local event in Southern California to a nationwide charity that has benefited thousands of children and their families for now over 16 years.

The Titans will host 22nd-ranked BYU at 7 p.m., Friday at Titan Stadium in the season opener for both teams.
