LAKEWOOD, Wash. – After a slow start to the Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational, the Titans came back to finish in fifth place with a score of 44-over par 908 Tuesday afternoon at the Tacoma Country Club.
Fullerton climbed the rankings throughout the two-day tournament, beginning with a score of 309 in round one and 304 in round two before finishing off the round three with an impressive score of 295.
Santa Clara took first place with a score of 27-over par 891. Kaity Cummings of Houston Baptist and Karen Miyamoto of Washington finished in first individually after shooting a 2-under par 214.
Elsa Lundquist once again led the Titans individually, finishing tied for 15th place with a score of 8-over par 224. Lundquist improved in every round of the tournament, beginning with a 77 in round one then shooting a 75 and 72 in rounds two and three.
Felicia Medalla placed tied for 24th after shooting a 10-over par 226. Much like Lundquist, Medalla improved as the tournament went on, shooting a 77 in round one before finishing off with a 74 and 73. Freshman Lisa Djerf finished 29th in her first collegiate tournament, shooting a 12-over par 226 (77-75-76).
With a score of 15-over par 231, Pauline Welker placed tied for 35th. Welker started of the tournament shooting a 76 before finishing the last two rounds with an 80 and 75. Britney Sok finished in 85th place with a score of 30-over par 246 (88-83-75).
The Titans now return home for their first local tournament of the year as they will tee off at the UC Irvine Invitational Monday Oct. 29 through Oct. 30.
