Lundquist Continues Strong Play with Tie for 15th Place Finish

ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's golf finished the Sacramento State Invitational Tuesday afternoon in seventh place after shooting a 50-over par 914.

The Titans greatly improved in rounds two and three but their first round struggles were just too much to overcome down the stretch. Fullerton shot a 318 in round, 294 in round two and 302 in round three.

Host university Sacramento State earned the victory after shooting an 864 even at par, finishing two strokes ahead of San Francisco. San Francisco's Vanessa Ha took the individual championship with a score of 5-under par 211.

Once again Elsa Lundquist lead the Titans individually as she finished tied for 15th place with a score of 9-over par 225. Lundquist had an impressive finish to the tournament as she moved all the way up from tied 43rd after round one. The sophomore shot a 81 in round one and then responded with a 3-under par 69 in round two and a 3-over par 75 in round three.

Felicia Medalla finished the tournament tied for 30th place after shooting a 15-over par 231. Medalla shot a 4-over par 76 in round one and a 3-over par 75 in round two while finishing the tournament with a score of 80 at 8-over par. Medalla's score did not count towards the teams overall score as she competed as an individual.    

Pauline Welker also finished the tournament strong, moving up from tied 43rd after round to finish the Sacramento State Invitational in 32nd with a score of 16-over par 232. Welker started slow, shooting a 9-over par 81 but finished the third and final round with a score of 72 even at par.

Britney Sok earned a tied for 34th place finish after shooting a 18-over par 234. Freshman Courtney Sharkey finished tied for 38th with a score of 20-over 236 while Lou Daniella Uy finished in 53rd after not being able to finish the third and final round.

Fullerton has a quick turnaround as they head to the Islands Monday for the Anuenue Spring Break Classic at Kapalua Bay Course in Kapalua, Hawai'i.
