PALM DESERT, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's golf finished in fourth place with a 61-over par 925 at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate Sunday afternoon at The Classic Club in Palm Desert.
Santa Clara took first place with a 34-over par 898 while fellow Big West competitors Hawaii and UC Riverside took second and third place, respectively.
The Titans moved up four spots in the second round of the tournament with a total score of 306. Fullerton held on to the fourth spot in the third and final round, shooting its best score of the tournament at 305.
Pauline Welker led the Titans individually finishing tied for eighth place with a score of 11-over par 227. Welker made huge strides in the last two rounds of the tournament after finishing the first round tied for 37th place.
Elsa Lundquist claimed 11th place in the tournament, shooting a 12-over par 228. Brittany Farrell tied for 21st place with a 18-over par 234 as she also showed a great improvement over the last two rounds to move up from 43rd place after round one.
Freshman Courtney Sharkey tied for 29th place with a 22-over par 238 in her first tournament with the Titans. Britney Sok tied for 35th at 24-over par 240 while Lou Daniella Uy took the top spot of the individual competitors to tie for 13th place overall with a score of 15-over par 231.
Fullerton returns to action Oct. 9-10 with the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational at the Tradition Golf Club in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
