SAN JOSE, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton sophomore Martina Edberg recorded her third career victory Tuesday afternoon as she earned co-medalist honors for the second consecutive year at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational hosted by San Jose State at Almaden Golf and Country Club in San Jose, Calif.

Edberg shot a 2-under 70 in the final round and finished in a tie for first place with Megan Osland of San Jose State as both players finished the 54-hole event with a 3-over 219.

While the start of the final round of the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational was delayed due to frost on the golf course, Edberg came out on fire, recording two birdies on her first two holes and four on the afternoon. She would go on to lead the tournament with nine birdies throughout the 54 holes.

It was Edberg's second straight medalist honor at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational as she earned her first career victory at the same event last year, recording a 3-under 213.

As for the Titans, the team bounced back with a solid final round, recording a collective 299 on the day to finish in sixth place overall, three spots better than where they started the day after sitting in ninth place after the first 36 holes on Monday. They finished the tournament with a 67-over 931, five strokes back of a top-five finish. Hosts San Jose State earned the tournament title, finishing with a 33-over 897, two strokes ahead of runner-up and day one leader Fresno State.

Freshman Brittany Farrell finished the tournament with a 17-over 233 after posting a 3-over 75 on Tuesday, her best round of the competition. She finished in a tie for 23rd place.

Senior Tisha Alyn Abrea was next in line with a 21-over 237 and also posted a 3-over 75 on Tuesday. She finished in a tie for 31st place.

Nadine Rivera rounded out the Titans scoring as she had her best round of the tournament on Tuesday, posting a 7-over 79 and finishing in 42nd place.

The Titans will now take a break and return to the links on March 20 at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz.
